In the recent years, heat pipe (HP) is applied widely and the study on heat pipe is emphasized and concerned increasingly. Approaches have been taken to improve thermal performance of heat pipe, for example, optimizing the structure of the heat pipe, placing the distributors in the heat pipe. Those measures enhance the thermal performance of heat pipe significantly. The author employed a new kind of working medium which was called nanofluid as the working fluid in the thermosyphon, but not changed the structure of the thermosyphon. The experiments were carried out to investigative the heat transfer enhancement of the small thermosyphon with nanofluid in it. The thermosyphon used in the experiment was made up of copper tube. Effects of the CuO nanoparticle/carbon nanotube concentration, categories of the particles, operating pressure on the efficiency of thermosyphon were investigated experimentally. Otherwise, the limits of heat transfer of the thermosyphon were investigated as well. Through the calculation and analysis after...
