Liquid chlorine is a traditional disinfectant in our country. Although it is economical, but its security problem has been paid more and more attention by the public. Liquid chlorine has big toxicity, it has huge safety hidden problem in its transportation, storage and management. Sodium hypochlorite generator has been produced and developed for over a hundred years. And it has been proven to be safe and trustful equipment that has lower operation cost, accurate disinfectant adding and great disinfection effect.Sodium hypochlorite generator can be divided into seawater system and brine system according to the material. And standard NaClO generator consists of a brine dilution device, an electrolytic cell, power rectifier, sodium hypochlorite storage tank and water softener. Electrolytic cell is the key component of the NaCIO generator, and it affects the production of available chlorine directly. Therefore, we need to research the rule about the change of available chlorine in the manufacture of sodium hypochlorite generator.Thus, we research the different interelectrode gap, electricity, electrolyte concentration, current density, electrolyte beginning temperature and some other factors that affect the production of available chlorine in the NaCIO generator, and we also test electrodes of different thickness to confirm the best one.Also, the sodium hypochlorite generator's application in the field of water supply, hospital wastewater disinfection, recirculation cooling water system, swimming pool water disinfection and reclaimed water disinfection is introduced in the article.
