With the development of municipal engineering and lots of underground structures and constructions being built up, resisting the uplift loading has been a usual problem in engineering design and construction. Based on 500kv EXPO Transformer Substation in Shanghai, this dissertation mainly discussed uplift capacity and deformation of underreamed pile which was abroadly used in engineering design and construction.The uplift capacity of underreamed pile was controlled by deformation, based on the research fruits and calculating methods of uplift capacity on uplift pile existed in domestic and overseas , this dissertation qualitative analyzed some factors influenced uplift pile's bearing capacity and load transfer, such as soil parameters and geometry factors of pile, with the help of finite difference program Flac3D; elastic deformation solution and non- linear deformation solution were discussed respectively by shear displacement method and displacement coordinate method;the latter was in accordance with the field datas of load testing of 500kv EXPO Transformer Substation.In the finality, the problems requiring further studies are discussed.
