The logging quality of shielded tunnel boring machine's construction covers many aspects, especially involving the frontal geological condition such as special rocks, quicksand, wrecks and sinking piles. The above listed environmental factors are all needed to be concerned. So the Real-time detection system is not only necessary but also an important section of the shield Machine's management to guarantee the management of the shield tunnel Machine. The information transmission system of frontal detection is a key technique for that the shield tunnel machine can operate with high quality, high speed and high efficiency safely. The writer makes a systemic study to the information transmission system of frontal detection and the corresponding shield machine's reconstruction based on the project of Shanghai Metro Shield Machine: "Assistant System Research of Intelligent Shield Machine".Firstly, the thesis presents how to take the mechanical modification for the central swivel joint according to the requirement of information transmission system of frontal detection. The writer also designs a radar box for the machine and chooses a kind of suitable material as the cover of the radar to protect the GPR.Secondly, the writer designs a information transmission system with certain electromagnetic screen capability for there are a lot of noises and electromagnetic interferences when the shield Machine operates.Thirdly, the writer builds an experimental platform of image transmission. The result of the experiments verifies the feasibility and validity of the application of GPR to detect the frontal geological condition.
