The research is mainly about leakage detection and localization in municipal water supply network. In this paper, the states of network in normal and in destroyed are simulated, and the leakage localization model are established to reduce leakage effectively and advance the economic benefit and social benefit of water companies.First of all, the actual state of water resource and leakage in municipal water supply network, and the reason of leakage, and the evolvement of researching on leakage including equipment and the way of leakage detection are introduced. A new leakage detection idea, virtual fields divided, according to the actual state of water networks of our country is put forward.Secondly, one municipal water supply network in north of China, setting advanced SCADA system is selected as the object of research, consequently providing data support for establishing an accurate leakage detection model.Thirdly, according on hydraulic analysis of water network, the square of the difference between the water pressure calculated and the water pressure measured is sum. The function of sum is supposed as objective function. The objective function is solved based on the Random Optimize Algorithm (ROA) and Genetic Algorithm (GA). The solution of the objective function is just the roughness of pipe. Comparing the solutions of the objective functions, although the solutions from both algorithms are suitable, the accuracy of GA is better than the one of ROA, but the time spending by GA is much longer than ROA. So the more adaptable algorithm should be selected according actual state of water network.In the end, based on the state estimation of water network, the state of water network in destroyed is simulated and the database of water pressure in water network destroyed is provided. The database of water pressure is analysis by cluster method, with the water network studied is divided into 14 areas, each one of which is a small water network. The discriminate-analysis method is used to an actual leakage of water network, and the leakage is located accurately.The program based on the theories accounted above is developed by Delphi and MSSQL and is easy to use.
