With the development of global economy, environmental pollution and oil crisis have been two main problems that human faced in the 21st century. In order to reduce baneful emission and save energy, many countries are actively developing new energy technology and searching for alternative fuel. Because of its excellent advantages on availability, low-emission and economic performance, natural gas is regarded as one of the most promising alternative fuel and the natural gas engine is becoming the hot research direction of the world in recent years. However, the natural gas has some disadvantages, and the excellent advantages of hydrogen can make up the disadvantages of the natural gas.The perfect mixed fuel is adding hydrogen into the natural gas.In this paper, the research object is HCNG engine, and the research methods are computer simulation and engine test bench. Study the HCNG performance and combustion under the different constant hydrogen blending ratio by computer simulation using GT-power software and on engine test bench; and study the impaction of the ignition advanced angle and excess air coefficient on engine performance. In this paper, simulation of WT615HCNG engine work process are conducted by GT-power software and factors affecting WT615HCNG engine work process are analyzed; and the real work process of WT615HCNG engine is conducted on engine test bench. For the demand of hydrogen blend natural gas engine development, the hydrogen-natural gas fueling supply system suit for the engine test bench is developed to achieve the constant hydrogen blending ratio. All simulation results computed are compared with the experimental results: engine power performance increases a little and economy performance is improved. HC and CO come down and NO x increases much. Studying the WT615HCNG engine combustion, the cylinder pressure is higher than WT615CNG engine; the temperature in cylinder increases, and with the increase of hydrogen blending natural gas ratio, they have the trend of increase. the discharge temperature of WT615HCNG engine is lower than WT615CNG engine, because adding hydrogen in natural gas improves post-combustion of WT615CNG engine.By studying the impaction of the ignition advanced angle and excess air coefficient on engine performance, the optimum hydrogen blending ratio are propounded.
