The damage of spherical liquid-storage tank due to outburst and ruinous earthquake can result in serious deaths and economic loss. Especially, the leakage of flammability and exploded-prone medium deposited in tanks can cause secondary disaster, which led to the serious destroy of the survival environment. The spherical liquid-storage tank is developing with high parameter and huge, analyze its seismic response and seismic damage has always become one of the most important researches, which becomes more outstanding in currently study of seismic protection of petrochemical facilities.Structural vibration control technology is a burgeoning technology to take precautions against and to reduce natural calamities, apply which to seismic protection of petrochemical facilities is an innovative attempt. With the development of structure compute program, the professional finite element program ANSYS is approbated widely. It is efficient to build finite element model to conduct the numerical simulated analyze.In this thesis, the analysis of seismic response of spherical tank, which considering interior pressure, gravity, liquid sloshing and earthquake, is carried out. Secondly, two passive control technologies of frictional damper and viscous damper are apply to the system, which is base on passive energy dissipate control technology. Further more, the effectiveness of the seismic control element is investigated. In addition, another two ways to reduce seismic response is to improve the support system, adding braces and changing the angle of original supporting columns. The research mainly includes the following parts:1. Theory of dynamical response of spherical liquid-storage tank is analysed. The finite element model is built with ANSYS and the mode analysis and transient analysis are conducted. The specific property of the tank's self-vibration and the characteristics of seismic reaction are obtained.2. Passive energy dissipation technology is introduced and apply two passive control technologies of friction viscous damper to the support system of the tank, the relevant effeteness of dampers is analyzed.
