As a kind of high accuracy executive machine, reaction wheel has been extensively applied to the attitude control system (ACS) of satellites. In the ground electric test of the ACS, usually use the reaction wheel elec-simulator device (RWESD) instead of the real reaction wheel (RW). In the table electric test stage, use the RWESD simulate the electric and kinetic characteristics. Compared with use the real RW in ground test, the RWESD has the characteristic of economical, controllable, undestructive and reliable, especially it can be used in different satellite ground test by change the inner parameters, it is high efficiency and low cost. The design of RWESD in this paper is based on the MCU C8051F040, include scheme design, hardware design, software design, RWESD implement and test; the RWESD can collect the control voltage, calculate the kinetic parameters, provide the analog voltage output, communicate with the computer of kinetic simulation(include CAN bus, RS-232 bus and RS-422 bus) correctly, the capability of the RWESD is fulfil the techno-target, and it can be participate in the ground electric test of the ACS.In this paper, hardware in the loop simulation of the ACS based on the RWESD has been designed and carried out, include the ACS mathematic simulation and the hardware in the loop simulation. Import the RWESD to the closed loop via the RS-232 bus. The RWESD is connected with the simulator of the attitude control computer(ACC), and the simulator of the ACC is connected with the PC via the RS-232 bus. In the Simulink environment, PC use the Serial Block of the MATLAB communicate with the ACC simulator in the S-Function, export the control voltage and collect the information of the RW. The simulator of the ACC provide the voltage via D/A converter, collect the output of the RWESD and generate RW information. The result of the simulation is indicated again that the design of the RWESD in this paper can be participate in the ground electric test of the ACS and complete the mission.
