In order to modify graphite to use as anode material for lithium ion batteries, this paper use phenol resin to coat graphite forming composite with the structure of"core-cover". Besides the method of evaporation, we use the method of filteration to coat graphite. This paper token and research the influence of evaporation and filteration on such properties as morphology, specific surface area, irreversible capacity, cycle life by using SEM, BET and electrochemical tests. Discussing Specifically the influence of parameters such as coating amount, evaporation temperature, carbonization temperature, intensity of phenol water solution, impregnanted time and adding silicon alkyl linker on the specific surface area, irreversible capacity, reversible capacity and cycle life. Results show that the specific surface area of evaporated graphite increase with coating amount, increase first and then decrease when carbonization temperature increase, while decrease first and then increase with the increment of evaporation temperature. The specific surface area of filterated graphite increase with intensity of solution, both prolonged time and silicon alkyl linker could benefit for lower specific surface area. The influence of them on initial irreversible capacity is same to specific surface area. The reversible capacity of evaporated graphite decrease while increase the coating amount and carbonization temperature, while evaporation temperature almost has no influence on it. However, coat benefit for cycle life efficiently.
