Chanhe River In The Urbanization Of Xi'an

This thesis focused on Chanhe River at the Urbanization process of Xi'an city, through field investigation and document analysis this paper system study the history of Chanhe River , discovered that the Chanhe River faced the contradictions of river's ecological function and river regulation in the current process of urbanization, explore how to balance the contradictions through the landscape Planning Methods and ways based on awareness of the ecological, let urban rivers reached the harmony state of flood control, drainage, water resources and ecological function balance.The thesis articulates the landscape planning and design objective about urban riverway which embarks from the basic related concepts, and both analyzes the natural river's ecological function and the ecological problem about urban river, then discusses the cases of urban riverway landscape from multi-disciplinary and multi- angles such as water conservancy, economy, amusement and rest and ecology. The paper from historical evolution, ecology, land use, river morphology and other aspects of water quality and quantity analysis urban section of Chanhe River in the river landscape of the status quo, which comes to the urbanization brought geometry of the river, habitat degradation, such as a single visual impact to Chanhe River. The thesis contraposes Chanhe River urban section which appears difference among urban riverway Channelization in the process of urbanization to divide different reaches. Through analysis of each kind of reach, the thesis discusses its corresponding landscape planning design methods and way to achieve the aims: recover the natural process and ecological function of the river, such as to have some habitats for livings, to decontaminate water resource, and to provide waterfront playscape for people, simultaneously still satisfied the flood prevention function. The thesis is mainly discusses that the water conservancy and ecological function triple balance by flood protection and drainage of stagnant water, which trough the way of rational landscape planning and design of river while bases on ecological consciousness. The thesis aims at setting up a suitable and worked landscape planning design methods and approach with ecological consciousness for Chanhe River, which is based on the traditional riverfront landscape planning and fusing several factors such as city open space, life, culture and history etc. to study the cognition, function and significance of city river in the process of urbanization.This thesis is the foundation part of " city public greenspace systems planning, decision-making and management research of the Shaanxi Guanzhong area" research. It's in view of the urban riverway space which is a very important constituent part of city public greenspace, and discuss its way to planning design methods.
