While roller chain drives are recognized to be one of the most effective forms of power,transmission in mechanical systems. The quality of roller chains directly affects performance and reliability of the whole systems.Experimental results show that, in most of mid-low speed chain drives, although in good condition of lubricating and sealing. Recently, many Chinese researchers apply themselves to increasing the fatigue proper of roller chains. However this is still a problem in this field. Before the new national standard carrying out, making a conclusion in manufacture level and fatigue distribution ruler of roller chains by experiments and data procession, and building effective and accurate fatigue test specification and our own fatigue curve, has great practical significance.In this paper, based on the theory study of fatigue of roller chains, according to the new national standard named GB/T1243—2006 and GB/T20736—2006, fatigue test and data processing for06B and 06B-2 roller chain samples acquired by random sample is made based on numerical implementation and MATLAB. F ? N Curve under 90% reliability and power chart on the basis of fatigue property have been worked out. This paper draws conclusions as below through above experiment and theory analysis:1,Fatigue destroy occur in both sides of stress concentration areas inside chain plate hole.2,Conformability inspection is conducted according to dynamic load standard in the new national standard. The test result can reach the dynamic load standard.3,Giving comparison of the methods of fatigue test method for transmission precision roller chain, combined test method is selected; determining load level in 5×10~5cycles with interpolation method is suggested in this paper. Load level can be determined with less samples, this method should be generalized for the improved testing accuracy and progress.4,Power chart on the basis of fatigue property have been worked out based on the fatigue life data of 06B roller chain. A comparison between this curve and the curve in ISO10823 is given, result show that the actual power is abouttwice of that in ISO10823in low speed, difference of the two curves is stressed with increase of chain drive speed, and more detailed difference can be obtained from the rated power curve in this paper.
