Digital brain regards the advanced nerve centre system of brain as the main object of research. It bases on the researching production of many fields, and it studies and develops the method of engineering application system from the view of cross-subject. This method bases on the model of technology of informatics of nerve system. Artificial sensory system is an important subsystem in it. And artificial olfaction system is a researching direction of sensory system simulation which has representative meaning and practical application value.Artificial olfaction system can realize the measure to the gas. It overcomes many shortages of traditional sensor, and it can analyze the gas more exactly. It adapts to more complicated working environment, and it has broad application values in war industry, foodstuff, defense and so on.This paper introduces the conception of digital brain firstly, and it brings forward a designing project of artificial olfaction system by comparing the models among artificial vision system, artificial hearing system, artificial gestation system and artificial feeling system. Meanwhile, the research uses NN toolbox function and PCA function of MATLAB to do emulational experiment. It realizes the classifying and recognition to the gas which is measured by the gas sensor, and it includes the qualitative recognition to the mixed gas and quantificational identifying to the single gas. Besides, it enhances the recognition ability of the system by improving the structure of network and changing the pretreating method of data.
