Firstly, the thesis not only presents the developing status of the SRD system both in domestic and abroad, but also introduces the advantages and disadvantages of SRD system, the electromagnetism principle and mathematic model of SRM; establishes the simulation model of SRM control & drive system based on linear inductance model. Then dynamic performance of SRD is studied in MATLAB simulink model.Secondly, the thesis designs the hardware and software of the SRD system based on 2.2kw, 12/8 SRM. Hardware implementation including of choosing the structure and parameter of power converter with its power component—MOSFET; drive circuit design with IR2110; designing the accessorial switching power supply which provides the power for drive & control circuit. The control circuit with the core components—AT89C51 & motor intelligent module is designed. Also the position sensor testing circuit, voltage protection circuit and current protection circuit are designed. The function of motor intelligent circuit is to realize dual PI adjuster of speed and current, PWM generation, current protection, chop-wave comparison. While the function of AT89C51 is to judge rotator location information, synthesize various protection signal and commanded information, and speed condition, then give the phase on-off signal and chopped current limited value at low speed. The PWM signal, phase on-off signal, the chop-wave signal and current protection signal are logically synthesized to produce switch signal to control the power component. The software of system is programmed. The Modular Structured Programming makes the program readable and modifiable.Finally, experiment of the designed SRD system is made after debugging the hardware circuit board and the corresponding software program successfully, the experimental results validate and deepen the conclusions drawn from research and approve the usability and reliability for the system.
