In this thesis, the topic of improving transfer capability of 330kV lines by compact transmission technology is discussed. The main contents are as follows:1. The mechanism of improving lines natural power, static and transient stability levels by compact transmission technology is analyzed.2. The effect on natural power by some compact transmission line parameters, such as conductors diameter,number of bundles, bundle space and the variation of clearance to terrain is calculated and analyzed. From the point of view of technical and economic comparison, it is proposed that to improve transfer of natural power, number of bundles should be increased and the conductor's diameter should be deduced, meanwhile lengthening bundle space and shortening phase-to-phase distance.3. Based on the current construction and operation status of 330kV transmission lines in Northwest China Power Grid, considering the practical control conditions and contribution of 330kV compact transmission line technical parameters to the improvement of natural power, the 330kV line parameter design scheme is proposed to improve transfer capability by compact transmission technology in Northwest China Power Grid.4. Problems encountered arising from the application of 330kV compact transmission technology in Northwest China Power Grid is analyzed. The conception of constructing 330kV tightened transmission lines in Northwest China Power Grid is proposed. In this conception, the technical superiority of tightened transmission line will be in equilibrium with construction cost and well live working conditions.
