Transformer is one of major electric apparatuses in power system, It plays an important role in the transmission of power supply. Therefore, the research for new algorithm of transformer protection with high performance,such as fast,reliable and sensible capabilities,is in highly demand. In order to develop new protection criteria,the voltages and currents during faults must be studied.In this dissertation,the liner model is adopted to study transformer internal faults.Then non-linear transient model of transformer was made.In this paper,the improved method to calculate the parameters of transformer model is presented. Magnetizing inrush curren and internal fault of transformer are simulated.the calculation precision is improved which is verified by the results of simulations.In the last period, we analyse the calculating settings of differential Protection for main protection of transformer.
