| Analysis on the slope stability is one of the grave subjects which has been focused for a long time both in the fields of the scientific and the engineering circles. With the fast development of the engineering projects in the high-grade highways in the West Region, the instability of the high embankment and deep cut slope has attracted people's attention nowadays. As there is no explicit definition in applicable technical code about high slope problems in Loess Areas, research on this subject should be carried out profoundly. A tentative numerical analysis on the slope stability is performed in this paper.With application of plastic limit analysis method using finite element method, stability of high loess slope is analyzed and solved by using linear programming method in this paper. Safety factor and stress fields and velocity fields of slope can be obtained. A program based on above thought is compiled by Matlab software to analyze similar problems.Safety factor and stress and velocity fields of slope can be obtained through analysis on stability of high loess slope using self-compiled program and similar results are achieved comparing with results of Bishop method. Then stress and velocity fields are plotted as vector diagrams and contour maps using software SURFER. By observing the maps conclusions can be drawn. With the development of tension fissures at the top and creepage at the foot of slope, the progressive failure of slope is resulted in. Finally, potential sliding surface cuts through and the slope collapses. It can be generalized that slide place of the slope occurs upward foot-slope. |
