As one kind of parks in urban park system, zoological park not only has commonness as botanical garden and urban parks, but also has its own particularity.The planning and design of zoo is a multidisciplinary work including planning, landscape architecture, architecture, zoology, ecology, etc. At present, there are few systematic research and academic guide in the field of professional planning and design. Our research bases on the historical origin and development of zoo, and focuses on the design of zoo, especially on the master layout and detail design. The key point is how to make our design not only meet the requirements of people but also the animal's life. In conclusion, according to the current condition of zoo, we propose the prospect of zoo in future development.
