Rectifier with traditional analog control and constant current control has already been unsuitable any more today, when digital control technology is widely used. This paper gives up the traditional method by adopting DSP controller to control SCR, based on the digital method, a 160kW rectifier is designed to fulfill the need of experimental DC supply of subway inverter.Firstly, from design cost, period, difficulty, function and performance, several schemes are compared and a most suitable scheme is chosen. This scheme used SCR as main switches, DSP and CA6100 as main controller and driver individually, which make system work stably and keep system from EMI. Detections of input and output, temperature sensor, LCD display, interface, etc. are also discussed in this paper. The main circuit is designed in detail, including main circuit topology, transformer design (power, ratio, winding), switch choosing, filter parameters, etc. , all these give important promotion to the whole system design.DSP TMS320LF2407 by TI company is used as main control IC, and LCD, temperature sensors are also used to designed control system. The main control method is digital PI, which used to control the output DC voltage to be dynamically stable. The functions of main ICs are simply described, software design method and related flow charts are given, temperature sensing, LCD display and interface design are also given. The main circuit parameters and control method are simulated by MATLAB/Simulink, which used to verify the system design, and the results validate the system design and give reference to real system design.Lastly, a real system is design based on the method above and experimental field is given in this paper.
