The open high piles wharf located in marine environment with the soft foundation, is widely made of reinforcement and concrete. However, it is confirmed by lots of research projects that the wharves of this kind must be maintained, even collapse because of resistance reduction induced by corrosion. Therefore, the whole service life prediction of the corrosion affected open high piles wharf is of significant practical importance to port structure engineers and asset mangers of port RC infrastructures in decision-making with regard to repairs.The durability prediction of the open high piles wharf belongs to that of the RCS in marine environment, which is studied at the premature stage at home and abroad. What's more, there are many issues worth to be studied. For example, the chloride corrosion mechanism is ambiguous, the diffusion equation with the time-dependent chloride diffusion coefficient must be revised, the present chloride-induced corrosion rate model that can be used only on special conditions should be improved, the Youping Liu cover crack model need be revised accordingly too, meanwhile, only the load capacity service life is taken into account in the present structure reliability prediction. In this paper, a model for the whole life-cycle durability prediction of RCS in marine environment is developed combined with criterions, which is simple and taken many influencing factors into account.The main content included in this paper is as followed:1,The predominant factor that causes premature deterioration of structural concrete, contributing to ultimate structure failure is analyzed and a revised chloride diffusion model is presented, and then the influencing factors of chloride corrosion are analyzed. In addition, an improved corrosion model available to marine environment is developed.2,The simplified structure model is presented and a fully stochastic analysis method for structural dynamic reliability is applied to predict the capacity life of the open high piles. Meanwhile, the stochastic capacity and loading model are introduced.3,Based on probability theories, a prediction method for each life cycle of the service for the structure is applied to the open high piles wharf.4,A project instance is analyzed to confirm the rationality of the aforementioned models.
