In this paper, a series of important problems such as kinematics, dynamics characteristics about power split CVT drive system for vehicle application and dynamical modle of entire car has been lucubrated. And then the dynamic response has been analyzed through emulation. The analytical results can be helpful for the establishment of the design standard and be well for the development of power split CVT drive theory.Through transmission analysis of the system, stationarity slewing range, preferences tenet decided by system transmission ratio and parameter matching principle for differ movement function has been gained. And then, curve fitting and optimize of clutch rotating speed characteristics and acceleration characteristics has been progressed, hence optimal engaging parameters of it under differ primary input rotation speed has been gained. Kinetic model of the system at clutch engaging has been established which stiffness and damp of shafting in system had been taken account of, and then characteristic equation of system has been gained, hence necessary and sufficient condition for system stability has been analyzed. Dynamic analysis of the system has been progressed further, hence response of the system under unit step input has been gained and influence of system response brought by the parameters differ value has been analyzed.Using car equipped with the system as entire car model, kinetic model of entire car under ideal condition which accorded with engine optimal fuel economical efficiency has been established and analyzed, hence dynamic response of entire car has been gained, and then the result has been compared and analyzed.In addition, the influence of car's dynamic response affected by the system has been analyzed and speed ratio change response characteristic of metal V-belt type CVT in system under the condition of engine optimal fuel economical efficiency has been gained.
