An ECG sampling system based on ARM 7 and USB2.0 was designed, it was expounded based on the there factors: one, the taking place of cardiac disease is random and dangerous, so valetudinarians have to take care of their harts chronically, and need doctors' help periodically or freely. Therefore, it's critical to investigate and produce more effectual ECG monitor equipments; Embedded System is a special computer system that be taken application as center and hardware curable. It is suitable for the application system ,which is very strict in request of function, reliability, cost, volume and consumption. ARM, the RISC processor, because of its cost-efective, low power and simple, has been particularly suitable for designing embedded systems. The technology of USB (Universal Serial Bus) is more and more fledged, and it has outstanding advantages, such as PNP, which is convenient to users, and the interface is small, so it has more and more wide use, and many interfaces used at the present will be replaced by it. The present popular USB bus interface is applied to transport ECG signals, the matter of low speed when the most instruments transfer data to computer is solved.The system is made up of two parts: ECG collection and ECG transmission by USB.First, the bring and the noises of ECG signals are introduced, an ECG collecting module is designed. It includes analog signals' disposal-amplification and filter of ECGSecond, the selection of microprocessor and ARM processor and the hardware design of the system are introduced, including the mode of the processor, registers, the mode of addressing and interrupt. LPC2210, a high-performance and low power ARM is seleted to design the central processing module.Third, the basic theory of USB, the character of ISP1581 and the interface circuit of USB are introduced, and the designed of USB firmware is discussed.Finally, the design of USB and the host application program is discussed. It describes the selection of driver tool, structure of WDM driver and developing mean of driver. Simply depict the communication method between the driver and application program.
