Energy-saving in building industry has become a crucial issue for sustainable development in China. Particularly, residential building sector deserves more attention because it occupies more than 60% of total building floor area. In market economy circumstance, economic aspect is a key factor to apply energy saving measures to residential buildings. Therefore, it is essential to carry out techno-economic assessment of the building energy-saving technologies. In this regard, lots of effort has been input both in China and abroad. However, a few quantitative studies which address the cost feasibility of energy-saving residential buildings using the LCA and systematic analysis methods are available in literatures.The main purpose of this study is to establish an analytical approach including mathematical model and its corresponding algorithm for techno-economic assessment of energy saving technologies applied in residential buildings.
