With the development of social economy, the study of wave interaction with marine structures is of particular importance in coastal engineering. The design conception and protection of marine structures always call for a good knowledge of near shore wave propagation characteristics and wave interacton with coastal structures. The present dissertation makes a pilot study in the wave interaction with structures in the coastal zone which is benefit to the design of coastal structures and exploration of ocean resources. In the present dissertation, a new mild equation mathematical model and a mild slope equation-boundary element method coupledmodel are established which take into account the sea bottom topography influence on wave propagation and wave interaction with structures, especially floating structures, to investigate the characteristics of the wave forces and structure motions under the influence of different waves and topography.
