With the development of highway building, more requirements are imposed on the compaction degree of soil. During the construction of the roadbed, many advanced machines have been used, which enhance the speed of the road construction. So the demands of the standard of mechanization can't be satisfied with by the traditional ways of checking soil compaction. So it's very important to design the equipment which can checks the degree of soil compaction continuously and exactly. There will be great practical significance in monitoring the quality of soil compaction. This article analyses the sorts of soil and the theory of compaction firstly, considering the theory of vibratory roller. By analyzing the roller-soil system, the mathematical model with the two-freedom degree system has been established. The relation between the degree of soil compaction and vibratory acceleration is the foundation of measure methods.Secondly, the system on the basis of DSP embedded standard modular has been designed. Also CAN bus can be extended to realize the collection, transfer and disposal of vibratory signals and velocity signals. The software of the system is developed on the circumstances of Visual Basic 6.0, so the software system is user-friendly. The functions of data storage, display and print are realized. The scheme has been proved feasible by the testing and experiments. The system also has been tested in the laboratory. It can achieve basically the task of checking the compaction degree of the soil.
