Dynamic compaction replacement method for soft ground treatment has the advantanges of reliable quality, simple operation, high efficiency and economy. So a lot of attention is given to this gorund treatment method by many civil engineers and researchers. The operation methods of dynamic compaction replacement method are different for different ground conditions and engineering requirements. And there are still many operation methods of dynamic compaction replacement method to be explored based on different environment and engineering requirements.The dynamic compaction replacement method has rarely been used to treat the soft soil more than 6 m below the ground in engineering practice. And there is little paper information about that. To improve the bearing capacity of deep silt foundation and abtain a good foundation treatment effect of reliable quality and high efficiency and economy, this paper has done some research work about dynamic compaction replacement method for deep silt. And a new double dynamic compaction replacement method is proposed to deal with the deep silt foundation treatment problems.Based on the foundation treatment design methods of the dynamic compaction method and the dynamic compaction replacement method, the foundation treatment design method of the double dynamic compaction replacement method is put forward and is applied in the project of xuangang steel-making system maintenance and reconstruction. After the treatment, the foundation detecting results show the evident improvement of the bearing capacity of silt foundation at the depth of 6m below the ground. And the bearing capacity of silt foundation, fak, is equal to or larger than 300kPa..Engineering practice shows that the double-layer dynamic compaction replacement method proposed in this paper could solve the bearing capacity problems of deep soft soil and could produce important economic and social benefits. And it will surely see a bright future of widely application and further develpoment.
