The durability directly affects the life expectancy of the cable -stayed bridge in running period. The forecasting durability and maintaining management of the cable-stayed bridge are an important work to make sure the normal life expectancy of cable -stayed bridge.Based on the basic durability theory, this paper analyizes the major structural parts of Xichang cable -stayed bridge. The durability of concrete structure in general air environment, including concrete carbonization mechanism and influencing factors, steel corrosion mechanism and influences to the structural mechanical performance, cracks of concrete caused by the expansion of corrosion and the relation between width of crack and amount of corrosion, and the life estimation of reinforced concrete structure. At the same time, the paper introduced durability paint for concrete of xichang Cable-stayed bridge. Secondly, this paper analyzed the durability of prestressed concrete structure, including the corrosion reasion and types,the concrete carbonation and carbonation model under the stress, the corrosion to the prestressed steel done by the crack and so on. The theory above analyzes is used on the mainbeam of Xichang cable -stayed bridge. Third, introduce and analyze the cable and protection management, including the actuality and management of cable protection, in foreign and domestic, the durability condition of hot-extruding PE jacket. Finally, analyxes the expansion-joint durability of Xichang cable -stayed bridge. Aimed at content above, combined with the actual construction environment of Xichang cable -stayed bridge, make sure the relevant parameter and does a forecasting analysis, then propose a corresponding method of maintaining management.
