Study On The Miniaturize Dome-screen Projector System For The Flight Simulator

The flight simulator is a kind of effective and economical device for aviator training program. As a part of the flight simulator, the visual display system is used to provide the viewers with visual information of the ground and the sky scenes. Since its performance affects the final training result directly, the visual display system is considered as one of the key features which represent the level of the flight simulator.The miniaturized dome-screen projector can be used as the visual display system of flight simulator. This kind of projection system can provide larger horizontal and vertical field of view while some large-scale systems can not perform, at the same time, this mini-system has simpler structure and lower cost. Combined with proper computer hardware and simulate-used database, it will translate into a perfect platform for most kinds of flight simulation tasks. The dome-screen projector lens is very different from the conventional projector lens in two aspects: the spherical object imaging; approximate 170° full field of view. There is no such design result available in China. The organizations which use this system for pilot-training depend on importing products.The main research contents and their achievements are as follows:We did a large volume of survey on a particular series of dome-screen projectors at the very beginning, and then we put a test on the optical lens to get the reference parameters. After compared and analyzed of few kinds of image source, a blueprint of miniaturized dome-screen system according to the client's demands came into being.
