With the development of modern science and technology,scientists and engineers pay more attention to health monitoring for all kinds of civil infrastructures,such as bridge,dam etc.Bridge plays important roles in transportation and economic construction,it has great influence on people's lives and properties, Therefore, it is an important guarantee of safe working carry out safety monitoring and scientific management for it. In the paper, the safety monitoring technology of long-span bridges has been studied meeting the need of practical projects, and it has been managed and analyzed by combining the factual monitoring data of the the Runyang Yangtse Rive Bridge. The main contents of the paper are following:(1) A new method of deflection measurement method must be carried out, and a novel measurement system must be designed after reading plenty of relative references.In this dissertation the author analyses three kinds of typical bridges and their mechanical models and deflection line function are given .This provides the location of measurement points theoretically and also the reference values of deflection and displacement.(2)The general method are discussed in this paper on deflection measurement,such as inclinometer, water level,GPS, 1 100 mm scale dial indicator and 1 1000 mm dial gage,the advantage and disadvantage are analyzed. After comparing some typical measurement principles,Which makes it clear that the method of bridge deformation surveying with total station can meet the demands of measuring upon the long-span bridge's deflection.(3) The accuracy of bridge deformation surveying with total station was analyzed by the principle of error. In order to validating the feasibility of the method, we take simulated experimentation in the field, and the result of test was good.. Then the method is installed on Nanzhao Bridge to test its static Deformation, good results are got.(4) When the method of deflection measurement is installed on the Runyang Yangtse Rive Bridge. The measuring accuracy can not meet the demands of measuring upon the long-span bridge's deflection on the general project, therefore,A new project of deflection measurement of long-span bridges is carried out, In the end,the survey data of the Runyang Yangtse Rive Bridge deformation by total station were compared with that from theoretical calculation.It is proved that the method of the bridge deformation survey with total station is convenient,and that the result of the method is reliable.With above studying, it shows that the request of deformation surveying method can be needed by the technology on health monitoring of long-span bridges, So it has more application value.
