In more than 120 years of the process of the development of the vehicle industry, it has been always promoting the progress of the human being and social civilization. The internal-combustion engine is not only the highly incorporate mechanic and electronic , but also the intensive embodiment of development of the modern high technology. However, due to the'chronic illness'of structure, the conventional vehicle can not adapt to the development of modern social any more. With more and more visibly and continual depravation of the resources and environmental problems, the sustainable development of the automotive industry has been totally restricted. The HEV (Hybrid Electric Vehicle), which has been becoming the effective solution to the above two problems, and been recognized in the whole international area, is the one of the vehicle models with the most potential and marketable foreground. In order to quantitatively analyze the characters of energy saving of HEV, the contribution of each energy saving approach and the most potential, the energy consumption analysis models, which can provide the analytical basis for the quantificational research of energy saving mechanism and energy consumption, are established on the MATLAB/SIUMULINK simulation platform. Therefore, the two-shaft parallel hybrid electric city bus (HECB) and its contrastive conventional city bus as the research object both have been chosen and established, in order to quantitatively analyze the energy saving of HECB. The main contents are as followed:(1) The models of energy consumption analysis are established, including the vehicle dynamics model, energy calculated model of wheel used by conventional and HECB together, as well as energy calculated model of the motor and battery used only by the HECB. The establishment of the energy consumption analysis provides the very important proof to the conventional city bus;(2) The 8 typical city bus driving cycles have been chosen and their characteristic values are analyzed. Some illogical points in the vehicle's...
