Large caliber cannon is a conventional weapons fitted in the field army. When launched not only can its loud noise do harm to the artillery men, but it can also be targeted by the enemy's target-detection system, through which the position will be exposed and the quality of battlefield communication will be interfered with.The essay, combining our "New three strikes & three defences" strategy: anti-reconnaissance, electronic jamming, and defending against precise strikes, made some detailed analyses. About the sounds of several conventional caliber cannon weapons equipped in the army, on this basis, the essay focuses on three applications of the caliber noise.Firstly, The essay proposed a suppose that the active noise cancellation can be applied into large caliber cannon noise control and suggested the possibility of employing the monopole secondary-sound source to control monopole noise source in cannon noise Cancellation. The computer simulation was done by using variable step size LMS algorithm. The results of simulation show that LMS algorithm is an effective noise reduction method in low frequency part in which cannon noise energy centralize.Secondly, based on "Hass Effect" and "D.Poher Effect", a supposition of cannon sound hiding and acoustics detection countermeasure mechanism is proposed in the essay. According to the precise orientation of cannon using acoustic-passive detection technology in recent years. It can be used to cheat acoustics detection of enemy effectively and reduce the cannon's capture probability from enemy's acoustics detection. Then the viability of cannon position is improved greatly.
