Available transfer capability calculation comes to being along with the electric power market production, and is developed along with the electric power market research deeper. The traditional transfer capability only considers some physical property factors, such as hot limit, voltage limit and stable limit. Under the competitive electric power market environment, the electrical power system becomes the management system by the original centralized management which separates mutually, increased each kind of uncertainty event possibility. Therefore research on available transfer capability has the very important theory significance and the actual value.The calculation of transfer capability is a very complicated task. According to the definition proposed by North America Reliability Council (NERC) in 1995, the factors considered in computing transfer capability include static security limits and dynamic stability limits such as small signal stability limits. In addition, all kinds of credible contingency such as line outage and generator emergency must be taken into account.Based on particular discussion on the domestic and foreign present situation of available transfer capacity research, this article proposes one kind mathematical model and the computational method of available transfer capability calculation based on the direct current sensitivity.
