Energy lacking and environment pollution are two problems that all countries in the world are confronted with today. Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) combustion technology is receiving increased attention for its ultra-low NO_X and PM emissions and high thermal efficiency. HCCI combustion process is hard to control because it is dominated by chemical kinetics of fuel air mixture. In addition, the HCCI operating range is narrow.Different octane number will lead to different HCCI control strategy. For the problem of high octane number extending to low load, different combustion boundaries, that is different intake temperature and pressure; and different fuel quality, that is Primary Reference Fuel and gasoline has been studied by this paper.A series of experiment are carried out on a refit four cylinder engine. The fuels are supplied by an electric controlled port injection system. The experimental results show that, intake heating can lead the HCCI combustion to low load. With the increase of intake temperature, the ignition timing is advanced. Being same intake temperature, the ignition timing of gasoline is earlier than PRF; with the increase of... |
