Pantograph slide is the pivotal parts of electric locomotive, which get electric power from power supply web. With the development of railway electrization , the requirement about the capability of slide is promptly improving. To sum up, the material of pantograph slide mainly experienced the process of metal carbon powder metallurgy metal-dipped composite. Now , the material of the wire are Copper or cupreous alloy. Seen from the working condition of the slide, the carbon-based composite is more ideal material. The development of railway electrization in our country is relatively late and get behind in the research and use of carbon-based slide. Now, the slides of our high-speed locomotive mainly depend on importation, and the price is quite expensive.In this article, we analyse the structure composition and capability of Germany slide with following instruments: SEM EDS XRD XPS ICP and etc. Then we bring forward the manufacture methods of slide and do the experiments of moulding and agglomeration. Then we test the capability of home-made slide and compare with imported product. The results indicate: the density and conductivity of home-made slide is close to Germany product, but still have bigger different in rigidity. On the basis of the experiment and analyse, we put forward new manufacture project and lay the theory and practice foundations for the ulterior research of home-made slide.
