The code for seismic design is updated through the country's economy and science enhanced. The building's aseismatic capability and standard is differ form the different time, so the various buildings have vary aseismatic capability.Through the low-frequency cyclic horizontal loading tests on the rammed earth walls, the study appraised this kind of buildings' aseismatic capability and put forward the countermeasure based on the quantity analysis of the masonry structures and timberwork:1. Masonry buildings have different construction ages, seismic fortification criterions and qualities at present in China. After a lot of investigations were done, three typical buildings were calculated and analyzed by PKPM which is a popular program of architecture and structure design for buildings in China according to different design parameters of ground motion .During the course, standard for seismic appraisements of building and code for seismic design of buildings were referenced .Then appraisements of seismic behavior for this building were given .A series of problems which are general in seismic design of masonry were analyzed .The strengthening strategies were also discussed .Finally, some suggestions for masonry structures were put forward.2. Through the structural styles of the historic timber structural building, this paper discusses the earthquake disaster characteristics of the timber structural building under the different seismic intensity .Taking the typical timber structural building in Xi' an as an example, it analyzes the internal forces and calculates the bearing capacity to the classic timber structural building in the both length and cross direction .It uses the finite element software ANSYS to build three- dimensional model and make analysis. This paper also discusses the relevant earthquake resistance measures to protect the historic buildings.3. The mechanical behavior and aseismic behavior of raw-soil structure with rammed earth wall and adobe brick wall, which is still used in our country, are studied. Three pieces of specimen on rammed earth wall and one piece of specimen on adobe brick wall are designed. Vertical loading and low cycle reversed horizontal loading are carried out on specimen aimed to study the failure process, failure mode, hysteretic curve and skeleton curve feature. The horizontal bearing capacity and deformation capacity of the wall also are studied. The actions of structural column and loop beam and the effect of admixture on the mechanical behavior of the wall are analyzed by the contrast experimental. The influence factors of anti-seismic performance on such wall and the problems that should be pay more attention to in constructing are pointed. Formulas for calculating the shear bearing capacity of raw-soil wall are given.4. Through the cost analysis of the raw-soil structure, the tectonic measures for the aseismatic capability of the raw-soil structure is in reason for economy. The measure can apply to reinforce the raw-soil structure's aseismatic capability.
