As the traffic constructions of China develop in these years, a number of long-span bridges are to be built to meet the demands of traffic layout, the suspension bridge capacity across large, shaped appearance, more and more attentions are paid on the suspension bridge. This paper introduces the histories and present states of suspension bridges all over the world, and then expounds the constituent of structure calculation and analysis about suspension bridge which include three parts:analytical numerical theory of line shape of main cable,nonlinear finite element analysis and parameter analysis.Firstly, this paper introduces parabola theory,catenary theory and segmented catenary theory. Those theories are the main method of calculating catenary line shape. In the course of determination of design parameter,the effect of main cable deformation on self-weight intensity and the influence of temperature changing on main cable line shape are taken into consider. Computer programs were wrote to get the from design line shape on the basis of segmented catenary theory.Secondly, nonlinear finite element theory about suspension bridge was discussed deeply. Using structure analysis system of suspension bridge (SBCC) the whole construction process of the Wuhan-Yangluo-River Bridge was simulated. Saddle's push moment and push times were determinated through calculation. And then according to construction procedure the theory inner force and deformation of structure on every construction step were got.Finally, sensitivity analysis was carried on through parameter, the suspension bridge was simulated when the weight of beams,the structure rigidity and the arrow-stride ratio were changed. The important parameters were getting through the results under the different parameters.This paper took the Wuhan-Yangluo-River Bridge as the example, the initial construction state and whole construction course of suspension bridge are calculated, the results provided a theoretical trajectory control, and received some useful conclusions.
