Cold-formed steel sections are lightweight materials and suitable for building construction owing to their high structural performance and durability. Cold-formed thin-walled C steel sections are widely used as secondary members in China, while in North American and European, they are widely used as main members. The connection of cold-formed steel sections are usually used bolt and Self-drilling screws, if Cold-formed thin-walled C steel sections are widely used as main members. The gusset plate with chamfers connection usually used in beam to column. In building construction, cold-formed steel sections are usually bolted to hot rolled steel plates or sections to form simple and moment connections.Much research and experiments has been reported in the literature on the development of Semi-rigid connections. It should be noted that most of the design recommendations on connections among cold-formed steel sections concern the load carrying capacities of individual fasteners. Little information on the structural performance of the bolted moment connections among cold-formed steel sections may be found in the literature. It is important to carry out physical tests to establish the use of moment connections between cold-formed steel sections. The experiments of thin-walled C steel beam-to-column connections with gusset plate with chamfers connection for being researched object have done the following three parts of research work to the performance of beam-to-column connection:(1) The experiments of 5 full size cold-formed thin-walled C steel beam-to-column connections with gusset plate with chamfers connection have carried out. The experiments have tested the rigidity of connections that is the M-θcurve of connections.(2). The experiments have tested five different modes of failure were identified, analyzed stress of the plate and the influence of the member's plate thickness, the distance of bolt, the shape and depth of gusset plate with chamfers to the rigidity of connections and modes of failure .(3) Through the comparative analysis of the experiments of 5 connections with gusset plate with chamfers connection and 5 connections with gusset plate without chamfers connection, the effect of gusset plate with chamfers connection about rigidity and load-bearing capacity of connections are analyzed.
