The prescriptive fire protection design standard and method of buildings can not satisfy the requirements of fire protection goals of modern buildings, and had also restricted the development of building art and building style. Performance-based fire safety design method emerged .Fire scenario design is the core of performance-based fire safety design method .The theory model and computer simulation of fire occurrence and spread are the focus of fire research.Typical fire cases and the reasons of fire occurrence and fire spread in the building were discussed in the thesis. The basic item,steady fire model,unsteady fire model and the testing method of the heat release rate were discussed. Fire growth process was also analyzed. The thesis summarized all domestic and international research of fire model.Based on heat transfer model, mathematic model of flame horizontal spread model in the building was developed. The shooting method and the program made by Mat lab were explained detailed .With the computer program, the combustion station of cotton cloth,print paper and multiple board were analyzed. The temperature transform curves of three materials were presented. .Design method of fire scenario was discussed in the thesis. Based on the data from the model of flame spread over the solid, burning-surface areas of combustible objects, the heat release rate of per unit area, and the position and fire character of the object around, the whole fire spread procession was ensured. The heat release rate of fire scenario was confirmed. Fire spread and smoke movement in the typical hotel room were simulated.Stochastic model of discontinuous combustible object was described in the thesis, and the emphases were the stochastic network model of flame horizontal spread among several combustible objects. The application of stochastic model on flame horizontal spread in the fire scenario was also discussed. .
