There are abundant energy in ocean, especially oil and gas. Semi-submersible platform for drilling and production and FPSO have become two main methods to exploit ocean oil and gas. So it's necessary to do research in location and mooring system of them.To ensure the safety of floater working in the ocean under long-time and serious condition, the design of mooring system is especially important. To satisfy the demand of engineering and design, the following problems are solved in this paper.Firstly, analyze and compare the material and character of mooring line.Secondly, analyze static force of mooring system. According to traditional catenary theory the paper analyzed the static force of the mooring system, we may compute a basic chain form and tension, which are the motive analysis calculation foundation of Lumped Mass Method.Thirdly, apply the Lumped Mass Method in analysis of mooring system. Subjected to basic equation, Draw up procedure to carry on imitate with science technique language Matlab to lead the tension variety of the cable bore.Fourthly, apply the finite element method in analysis of mooring system. This paper mainly applied the large finite element calculation software ABAQUS carrying on imitating to imitate mooring line, the difference to the mooring cable of single composition and the mooring cable of the complex composition carried on an analytical calculation to get mooring cable variety of the tension with time and provide the useful reference value for the actual engineering design.
