In this paper, the function and property of control over Rotational Speed of Diesel Engine (RSDE) in Engine Control System (ECS) are analyzed, then Redundant Control System (RCS) of Hot Backup structure based on CAN bus is designed and applied to the RSDE control system from the development of control and requirements of engine control.The design and research of redundancy RSDE control system in ECS is made up of the following parts: the embedding of redundancy, the design of redundancy and redundancy switching trial between two control module. It has higher reliability in contrast with the common control schemes, resulting in the low probability of faulty and the improvement of running efficiency, which stands for the advantages over those common control schemes. Furthermore, CAN bus is embedded in RSDE control system, which creates high speed of switching and data communication between the dual control system.The tasks for me to finish include: firstly, necessity and superiority of RCS are described compared to other control schemes; secondly, design the hardware circuit of input, output, data backup of RCS in RSDE control; thirdly, hardware circuit of communication redundancy based on CAN bus and the system switching is designed; lastly, simulation experiment is executed to verify the validity of the system switching process.Applying redundancy control scheme to RSDE control system of ECS, and resorting to CAN bus, will bring the security of ECS to a level of high reliability, and will also increase the reliability of power system on fleets and ships.
