In everyday, life and pratical engineering,leaking phenomena is commonly seen. The leakage of equipments will cause damages in many aspects. The leakage of the medium in the equipment can not only waste the materials ,but also pollute the environment. The leakage of materials which are flammable, explosive and toxic can do harm to safety of the human being. The water ,gas, and powder of surroundings can invade into equipments so as to pollute the medium, influence the product quality, and shorten the service life of the machines . Therefore the sealing of the products is an important index of the engineering product.Since leaking of products shall be harmful to the use oof products and working environments, In order to improve the integral quality of the engine and the life of the crankshaft quality, we setup the task group, to proceed a special research on leakage detection system of oil path and water path in cylinder. The paper layes the stresses on the research of all kinds of principles of leaking detection and the causes of leaking detection precision. Also the design method of the detection system is discussed.The research indicates that the engine's whole fault rate decreases by 2%, the life of the crankshaft increases by 10% , but at the time the new request is put forward to the casting of the cylinder so that qualification rate of the cylinders reduces by 2%.
