Sustainability is the subject of the development of human being. The ratio of energy consuming in Architecture is very large .The technology of integration of ventilation and thermal mass is regarded by engineer as the energy crisis. The paper reviewed a lot of literature about thermal mass and ventilation technology. The concept and sort of the thermal mass and the theory of thermal mass are introduced in the paper. The factor and parameter that describe the characteristic of thermal mass is analyzed in detail. In the former investigation, thermal mass and ventilation is investigated respectively, but the investigation about the coupling between them is not enough. The coupling between thermal mass and ventilation is regarded in this paper. The investigation methods in the paper are as follows: CFD simulation; numerical simulation. The paper cited a model between ventilation and thermal mass. The wall is supposed insulate, indoor thermal mass is considered in the model. The control equation is very simple, but it is enough to study physical phenomena. A calculation example is used to get some figure .The effect of phase shift and attenuation in temperature fluctuation by thermal mass can be observed in these figures. The CFD simulation of the similar modeling is carried out, the result of the CFD simulation is similar to the calculation example. It is possible to use CFD to modeling the coupling between ventilation and thermal mass.At last, a simple model with a constant ventilation flow rate is proposed. The heat transfer of the wall and the internal thermal mass is considered in this model. The control equation can be solved by an implicit finite-difference method. A computer program is developed to solve the finite-difference equation.
