Lunar exploration is of great importance for human, design of lunar probe trajectory is the vanguard of lunar exploration project. In the paper mathematical models of the Earth-Moon transfer trajectory and return trajectory for lunar probe are established, analytic expressions for the trajectory are derived, then characteristics of the trajectory are analysed via numerical simulations, and specific examples are proposed in addition.Firstly, characteristics of Earth-Moon space are introduced. Basic characteristics of the Moon are described, lunar sphere of influence which is a denotation of the extent of Moon's gravity is defined, then laws of the Moon's movement in Earth-Moon space are given, lastly coordinates used in the paper are selected and methods of coordinate transform are defined.Secondly, trajectory parameters are initiated, mathematical model of the Earth-Moon transfer trajectory is established in the Moon orbital plane coordinate, which is transform into Earth-centered inertial coordinate nearby the Earth and into Moon-centered fixed coordinate nearby the Moon, then characteristics of the Earth-Moon transfer trajectory are analysed and design examples are given. Finally, mathematical model as well as the simulation analysis and the design example of the return trajectory are established by the similar method as that of the Earth-Moon transfer trajectory.Study of this paper may supply theoretics of lunar probe trajectory for our nation, also provide supports and references for our lunar exploration project.
