A kind of software has developed for rapid prototyping in this paper. This software uses binary STL files as data input. It can generate the scanning path that can be used in rapid prototyping manufacturing. This type of manufacturing mode by the aid of mid-process is prevailing at the present time.Here puts forward some innovating algorithms during the period of programming this software . A new adaptive slicing algorithm has put forward, which combines the rate of area change with scalariform error for computing the layer thickness. This new way is one of innovation in this paper. On the problem of processing the sectional contour loops, the traditional processing way was to sequence the sectional contour loops. This paper abandons that traditional way, but puts forward a new way in which it can memorize the intersecting points directly which are computed from the intersection of sectional contour loops and scanning straight lines. The dominance of this algorithm is that it can improve the data-processing efficiency by omitting the sequence process.
