The Application Of Operational Research And GIS In Weapon Equipment Guarantee

This paper studies the weapon equipment guarantee under the high tech condition. First we introduce the cause of the war. Then we point out that it is necessary to study equipment guarantee.The paper discusses the system of weapon equipment guarantee in our arm at this time. And it clarifies the demand and the direction of the system. Also it studies the current weapon equipment system in the USA, including how the American army deals with the war challenge under the high tech condition. In the end, the paper discusses the development of the weapon equipment in the future.We construct a mathematical model about the system of the weapon equipment using some correlative results in the operational research. In the model, we introduce some variables representing the guarantee members and the equipment supplement, the choice of the guarantee manner, the division of the jobs separately. We also give a detailed example, which provides some objective data for the decision-makers.The paper gives the concept of the GIS tech, its basic character and its function. We enumerate its abroad applications in our society and in military activity. As the form of the war is turning from mechanization to information , we can put the GIS tech in the military equipment guarantee in order to "make the war be seen". It means that the guarantee commander can know the war better and get more information about every war unit's equipment loss and equipment consuming. Consequently, the commander can make correct and timely guarantee decision. And he can bring effective guarantee in the weapon equipment.
