The technology of starter/generator is an important direction of today's development of aero electrical technology. Doubly Salient Electro-magnetic Motor (DSEM) is a kind of new brushless DC motor, and it has the merits of simple structure, high reliability, high energy density and capability running in high speed. Doubly Salient Electro-magnetic Starter/Generator (DSES/G) based on Digital Signal Processor (DSP) has a good applicative prospect.The structure and starting/generating integral working principle of DSEM is firstly explained in this thesis. Starting control mode and generating reason of starter/generator were introduced, and the back electromotive force (EMF) of starting state and generating state was also analyzed. Based on overall structure of starter/generator, the function requirement of starting state, switching state, and generating state was analyzed. And also based on the function requirement being met, the technical index of starter/generator was analyzed.For decreasing bulk, weight and simplifying control circuit of the system, this article has made integral design for main power converter, excitation power circuit and hardware and software circuit. Based on the DSP chip, the thesis has introduced full digital control method of starting, starting/generating switch and generating. Simulation model of DSES/G has been built with the simulation software of MATLAB and simulation study has been made.In order to improving starting operating performance of DSEM, the reason of the position signal error was analyzed, and the principle of the position signal error and the influence to torque ripple has been expounded. It has made experiment detection and rectification with signal control technology for the position signal error.The design of software and hardware of DSES/G based on DSP is introduced finally. The experiment has validated feasibility of integral design scheme of starter/generator. It indicates that DSES/G can start reliably, switching from starting to generating is simple, generating voltage is steady and fault generating can be implemented.
