At present, it is very serious that the irrigation water waste in agriculture. Then we wish to enchance the efficiency of irrigation, and reduce the time from traditional extensive agriculture to modern precise agriculture. Furthermore the resoure of water is saved. Aiming at the disadvantage of the traditional efficient irrigation system, this paper put forward a new kind of intelligent efficient irrigation system. The system regards the geometrical size of plant organs as the feedback control variable, and leaf is selected in this paper. Because the plant is the controlled device, the intelligent efficient irrigation system realize the genuine closed-loop control system. Thereby the control precision and the efficience of saving water are improved. To establish the intelligent efficient irrigation system includes some aspects. Two of them are studied in this paper. One is how to exactly meaure the geometrical size of plant organs, the other is to look for the growth rhythm of plant. We can find the growth rhythm of plant according to the thickness of plant leaf.The paper expounds on the following aspects:Firstly, because of the particularity that plant is biological material, and the micron rank to measure the plant leaf, this paper puts forward to exact flexible measure the plant leaf. Presently the measurement technology of high precision is very sophisticated in industry. Then we can apply it to measure the thickness of plant leaf, based on the study of the elastic ratio (Young's modulus) of the plant leaf.Secondly, the instrument is produced to measure the thickness of plant leaf. And the capability is analysed. We produce two kinds of instrument. One is strain guage amesdial, the other is inductance amesdia! which foure senser can be used at the same time. According to the requirements of the subject. We design and produce the micron inductance amesdial to measure the plant leaf. And that the measurement precision must be stified.Thirdly, we do measurement experiment for a long of time, using the inductance amesdial that we produced to measure the thickness of plant leaf. Then we get a lot of data that is very valuable. After the data is anslysed and worked, we get the model of plant growth rhythm which is reflected by the thickness of plant leaf. And we compare it with the other way.The paper get very significative conclusion through studying the key technology of the new intelligent efficient irrigation. At the end of the paper, the results of the research are summarized for futher improvement.
