Lumber elastic modulus has close relations with mechanics performance such as rigidity , hardness and intensity and so on. So we classify' wood depends on elastic modulus to guarantee the product quality after processing. Because the traditional methods measure lumber elastic modulus with long time and destructive, it can't satisfy our needs for continuous and nondestructive tests. The classify test device in aboard has high price, it can't be accepted by our processing enterprise. Our country measures a large amount of research on the elastic modulus for wood, but mostly at the stage of laboratory, failed to apply to production practices. So developing a kind of wood elastic modulus automatic device which can be suitable for producing actually, accords with the national conditions of our country has certain promotion to the wood classify technology of lumber of our country, it must have good market prospects .This paper introduced lumber elastic modulus is a kind of fast testing device for lumber elastic modulus with FFT, numerical control and computer technology. The device acquired lumber elastic modulus by FFT analysis and calculating by computer on knocked sound. By the examination, we know it has close relations between lumber dynamic elastic modulus and static state elastic modulus. Compare on other method, whole detection procedure time consuming and short, automatic intensity high, non-destructive for lumber and saving cost greatly.This paper has introduced the testing principle, mechanical part designed, automatic control order and software programming for lumber elastic modulus automatic testing device. It mainly introduced data collection and processing and analyzing the testing result of the system. It made out the testing system can classify lumber and Nondestructive Testing fast. It is more accurate for measure the result, and cheap, accord with market needs.
