In the 10-35kV isolated neutral distribution network, the high voltage fuse which protect the potential transformer often break because of single-phase earth fault, even the potential transformer may be destroyed. The paper mainly deals with the reason and corresponding preventive methods of the high voltage fuse breaking. The basic reason of the high voltage fuse breaking is analyzed , then the digital simulation and physical experimental research for high voltage fuse breaking is made, the preventive methods is put forward based on the research result, at last the preventive methods is validated by the field experiment.
