More and more attention is being paid to the wind energy for its particular merits when the environment is being badly polluted and the conventional resource is drying up. The blade of wind turbine is an important part, absorbing wind energy and converting it to machine energy. The paper studied the design model, the performance characters and dynamics analysis of the blade of the horizontal axis wind turbine. The main conclusions are as follows:1. New simple and precise blade design model based on the vortex theory. Compared with many kinds of design models, the new model was considered as optimization design method to design the pitch and the chord of the blade. Firstly, the model was much simpler than Schmitz model, Glauert model and Wilson model; secondly, it had the same precision with Schmitz model, Glauert model and even Wilson model; thirdly, it was not necessary to amend the design data with linear approximation.2. The precise 3D blade. A new blade was designed with the areofoil NACA4412 according to the above new design model, and the power P of the corresponding wind turbine was 400W.
