At present, most actuating mechanism only can transmission one kind of movement, but there are some of them need to transmission continuous and long distance round about movement. So we brought forth a new kind of actuating mechanism, that is the drumshaped gear with ring-involute teeth mechanism. We can also named dimensional gear mechanism. In this paper, we designed the structure of the gear and rack in this actuating mechanism, elaborated the theory of its formation, and deduced the profile function and gearing function of the gear and rack. Furthermore, we deduced the inherent radius of going around a turn under certain circumstance, the condition of the correct gearing and the continuous transmission. In order to make the mechanism move steady, we designed the derivation mechanism and manufacture the modle. We proposed four kind of it and analyzed their structure. This kind of new actuating mechanism can realize the going around a turn under the condition of steady and smoothing, so it can realize the transmission continuous and long distance round about movement with the whole equipment. This article analyzed the system of the whole characteristic of the drumshaped gear with ring-involute teeth mechanism. Thought of the influence of manufacture's precision and the assembling accuracy to the design of mechanism's steady and the system of control, we used the dynamics simulation software ADAMS to analyze it on the base of establishing the 3D model and entity model. So we can get some property curved shape about it. After studying the entity model, we can verify this kind of mechanism can finish the appointed curve line, that can brought the design method and dependencies for the new gear mechanism optimize design.
